Flat Film
This is a general flat cast film line category using from 3 to 7 layers to produce a multitude of packaging films with 3 to 5 extruders. The films are generally formed with a vacuum box, are corona treated and in-line slit using bleed trims and wound with low tension. Typically the films feature a heat seal side and a packaging machine side where different slip levels are required.
- Typical line sizes are 80 to 160” / 2 M to 4 M wide
- Gear in speeds to 2000 FPM / 610 MPM.
- Wound roll diameters can be product dependant to 40” / 1 M.
Typical products are in the 1 to 4 mil / 25 to 100 micron range, confectionary bags, bread bags, towel and tissue bags, single slice cheese film, pouch film, sugar bags, meat packaging, electrical component packaging, liquid packaging, vacuum packaging films and bag in a box film are produced on such lines.
This 189 inch (4.8 meter) casting unit runs stretch films at speeds in excess of 1804 ft./min. (550 m/min.) with excellent reliability.
Cast film line with close coupled and streamlined feed pipes to a 7 Layer coextrusion system on a 150 inch (3.8 meter) wide die.
