Cast Film Overview

The DS group offers a broad range of Cast Film capabilities with various levels of sophistication and sizes to meet the process requirements. Process lines are supplied using an integrated control solution tying sub components together into a seamless architecture for ease of operation. Complete lines in standard or custom form encompassing resin supply to automatic finished roll removal are available.

We offer equipment installation engineering packages, equipment installation and start-up services upon request. In most cases the equipment can be offered as “QFP - Plug & Play”, control room / multi cabinet configuration or E-tainer.

Available to each application are various levels of features and automation which can be selected to best meet the needs of the operation or budget.

We offer flat film processing with a vacuum box or air knife and melt embossed film processing with wet or dry embossing nip methods.

Film treating is offered as single side, either side or dual side configurations as required by the process.

Edge trim and in-line slitting using razor or shear methods are selected based on the film type.

In-line slitting is available with and without bleed trims depending on the type of film and exact application.

Film winders are designed to meet most product specific applications and feature special slitting stations, web handling configurations, lay-on roll designs, automatic transfer systems, turret sizes and roll and core handling automation.

Profile control is offered as fully automatic or manual using proven OEM measurement systems from ESG and NDC with OEM or DS automatic profile control packages. Extrusion dies from Cloeren, EDI and DS are offered.

This 189 inch (4.8 meter) casting unit runs stretch films at speeds in excess of 1804 ft./min. (550 m/min.) with excellent reliability.

Cast film line with close coupled and streamlined feed pipes to a 7 Layer coextrusion system on a 150 inch (3.8 meter) wide die.

Stretch Film Lines from 80 inches (2 meters) to 200 inches (5 meters).
